PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

NC-SIL S is a drilling fluid water-based shale inhibitor. It is a solution of sodium silicate oligomers.

PHYSICAL & CHEMICAL PROPERTIES

APPLICATION

NC-SIL S is used as the primary inhibition mechanisms in silicate-based muds. The primary inhibition mechanisms are: 1. The reaction of the anionic silicate oligomers to form an internal gel structure. 2. The reaction with polyvalent ions to form insoluble precipitates.

RECOMMENDED TREATMENT

Treatment varies according to the required operation. The optimal concentration is 20g/l of SiO2 in the liquid phase. However in some operation concentration may have to be increased to 50g/l of SiO2. When drilling, maintain efficacy by the continuous addition of concentrated silicate premix.

PACKAGING

NC-SIL S is available in 55 US gallon (208.19 l) drums, palletized as 4 drums per pallet.
